Kev chong ~~~ the one who tagged me...!!
Faster bring me to Malacca to eat SATAY CELUP because you have caused me to drool so much..>.<"..
I've been tagged to blog about my favourite food in my country~ YES, M'SIA!!
Actually, there are lots of food in M'sia which drive me crazeeeeeee~~ since M'sia is a makan makan (eating) heaven !! We are able to find tons of different dishes in this country, be it Chinese food, Malay food, Indian Food, Baba and Nyonya Food, the hybrid =) of food from different races and many many manyyyyyyy more.
So, today~let me introduce one of my favourite food to all of U, my lovely readers. Before I proceed =) do u want to prepare a bowl ?? For what? *grins* ..Whatever~ u won't regret later.
Focus on the yummy topic NOW. Eye-food for you =)..
I've forgotten when was my first try of this delicious food. I can tell you that the satay celup is incredibly tempting!! *winks* ~ My mummy's hometown is in Malacca. Every year, I'll have the chance to eat SATAY CELUP during CNY period when we dropped by in Malacca to visit some of the relatives. But there are also times where we missed it due to some reasons and I'll feel very very down X( .
SATAY CELUP or satay steamboat is a famous delicacy found in Malacca. Satay celup is a local version of lok-lok (tidbits on skewers dipped into boiling water and then eaten with sauces) that consists of raw and semi-cookedseafood, meat and vegetables on wooden skewers and cooked at the table in a pot of hot satay sauce.
The assortment of food which used for Satay Celup are just some ordinary ones that could easily be found elsewhere. Some examples are such as the meatballs, fishballs, pork, squids, wantan, fried wantan, fish, intestine and many many many more. Can't really provide the full list here.
Come to the most AMAZING part and this appears to be the most important thing of this Satay Celup. Without this, it is not that yummy anymore. Yes, it is the sauce!! The SATAY CELUP SAUCE . Satay Celup is not the same as lok-lok. Instead of dunking those sticks of food into a boiling pot of water or soup (those type that can be found at night market), you dunk it in a pot of boiling satay sauce. Yes, the sauce which well blended with peanuts and dunno what spices.
For those who don't really eat spicy food, too bad lahh..since it is so so Soooo delicious! You can't miss it you know? So, I recommend you to order 2 glasses of cold drinks..= p.. instead of just sitting there without trying the special satay celup! You must eat as many as possible ..LOL..
Nonetheless it's a fun and different way to eat. You will be charged according to the number of sticks you have on the table~ means the number of sticks of food which u ate.
These two places are the famous spots for satay celup:
- Ban Lee Siang, Jalan Ong Kim Wee
- Capitol Satay Celup, 41, Lorong Bukit Cina. (Close on Monday)
Remember, you can't miss it! U must try this if you drop by in Malacca. Since this satay celup is a unique delicacy of Malacca!! =)
Done~.. OH yaaa, check your bowL now. Is it full with liquids *grins*.. told ya'~ XD
